O _taxiing_ até à pista foi tranquilo, apesar da visibilidade ? supostamente ? nula. A ignição dos dois CFM, seguida da verificação dos sistemas, concluída, o Comandante jcmacedo recebeu autorização para a descolagem. O _take off_ ocorreu com sucesso, apesar do vento nulo e da visibilidade estranhamente reduzida. A subida inicial foi efetuada a 1g, com um ângulo de inclinação moderado. Após a recolhe da flaps e trem de aterragem, a aeronave atingiu a sua altitude de cruzeiro, TOC, a 29503 pés.
